Petra-Cornelia Marinescu has developed a solid and well-rounded professional profile in European Union law, international law, business strategy, data protection, and technology regulation, combining rigorous academic training with a strong focus on contemporary legal challenges.

Her academic background includes dual law degrees obtained from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Franco-Romanian Legal College in Bucharest) and the University of Bucharest. She further pursued a Master’s degree (Master 1) in European and International Business Law at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Franco-Romanian Legal College in Bucharest), with an academic focus on the free movement of goods and services and European competition law.

Ms. Marinescu continued her specialization through an LL.M. at the University of Bucharest, where her academic research addressed GDPR compliance for small and medium-sized enterprises, a topic reflecting the growing intersection between data protection and business regulation. Her dissertation received high academic recognition for its practical relevance and legal analysis.

In addition, she completed a Master’s program in European and International Law at the Nicolae Titulescu University of Bucharest, where her dissertation focused on European competition law in the context of digital markets and the need for regulatory reform. This research examined the adaptation of traditional competition law instruments to platform-based economies and emerging technologies, receiving high praise for both analytical depth and relevance to current EU policy developments.

Her academic and professional development has been complemented by participation in prestigious international moot court competitions, including the Charles Rousseau International Law Competition (semi-finalist, 2023, Montréal) and the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Washington, D.C.). These experiences contributed to the refinement of her legal reasoning, advocacy, and research skills in the field of public international law.

Alongside her studies, Ms. Marinescu has published articles in the field of European business law and conducted research on emerging legal issues, including the legal implications of artificial intelligence and the concept of jurisdiction clauses in electronic B2C contracts.

She is fluent in French, English, and Romanian, enabling her to work effectively in cross-border and multilingual legal environments and to approach complex legal matters from multiple legal and cultural perspectives.
