Litigation & Arbitration

RMDT’s litigation practice group has continuously provided high quality services to clients, natural persons and companies, small and medium enterprises and large corporations, and delivered creative solutions based on litigation strategies developed by our experienced litigators, for the purpose of achieving our clients’ best interests. Our expertise in dispute resolution covers almost all areas of practice, with a focus on restitution claims, general commercial matters, bankruptcy, administrative law proceedings, and intellectual property or employment matters. Our expertise in dispute resolution matters also covers assistance and representation of clients in arbitral proceedings, before Romanian and international arbitral institutions.

Due to an increasing number of requests, special practice groups have been created internally, such as the Criminal Law practice group. Also, RMDT has gained valuable expertise in administrative – fiscal litigation, entailing a sound knowledge of complex economic law, as well as thorough understanding of complex transactions.

Following the increasing number of litigations in restitution matters, a special practice group has been created. Among the central figures of our clients, there are names having a historical significance for the Romanian industry, like successors of Max Ausnit, Nicolae Malaxa, ones of the big figures of the Romanian industry, or the Habsburg family throughout the restitution of Bran Castle. The Romanian-Jewish Community Confederation is also a significant client of RMDT in dispute resolution restitution matters.

Among the most notable litigations in restitution matters, we may include the following: RMDT assisted the heirs of Max Ausnit and Nicolae Malaxa in the restitution by equivalent of the shares held in various companies, amounting to hundreds of millions of euros; RMDT assisted and represented various clients for the restitution of immovable located in Bucharest and in other localities of Romania.
